1 July 2013: Depok – Sudirman is only Rp. 3.500

The government finally disbursed subsidy in the form of the Public Service Obligation (PSO) for PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) amounting to Rp 704.7 billion. Some of the budget amounting of Rp 286 billion is allocated for Greater Jakarta commuter train.

Ignasius Jonan, PT KAI President Director Ignatius Jonan explain that starting 1 July 2013 Commuter Line distance-based fare for each route decreased significantly. As for an example, passenger departed from Depok Station to Sudirman Station with normal distance-based fare would pay Rp 6,000. After receiving subsidies, tariffs dropped to Rp 3,500.

This new scheme of distance-based fare will be the first 5 station passenger will be charged Rp 2,000 and for the next each 3 station passenger will be charged Rp 500. Jonan explain, for example, Bogor-Jakarta Kota station with the normal distance-based fare the passanger should pay Rp. 9.000 but with the new subsidy scheme, they only pay Rp 5.000


This new distance-based fare will applies to all the route of the Commuter Line.
