The realization of the construction of the airport train to date is still going nowhere. PT KAI designated as operator and assigned to build railways from Duri Kosambi to the SHIA, and the company has not received any explanation from Bappenas and the Ministry of Transportation.
Ignatius Jonan, President Director of PT KAI stated that PT KAI is still awaiting the government’s decision regarding the construction of elevated track design plan. The government until now, has not come with the design of the elevated track.
Previously, PT KAI said the Soekarno- Hatta airport train will be operational at late 2014. While the railways construction will start next year.
The SHIA airport train consists of two Line, namely via Tangerang and via Pluit. The airport train Airport via Tangerang planned to be operated by the CommuterLine through Manggarai Station – Sudirman – Tanah Abang – Duri – Grogol – Bojong Indah – Kalideres – Tanah Tinggi, and ended at Soekarno Hatta International Airport .
While the other airport train line through Pluit will be operated by Express Line. The construction scheme of this project will be through the Public-Private Cooperation ( PPP ) with an estimated Rp 20 trillion cost for to 33.86 kilometers long.
It is expected, the airport train will depart every 30 minutes from Manggarai station with a journey time to the SHIA airport about 55 minutes.
