The building that is currently occupied by the Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional or the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) was established in 1925 by FJL Ghijsels, an engineer born in Tulung Agung, East Java.
The building is located on Jl. Taman Suropati No 2, Menteng, Central Jakarta, which is directly across from Suropati Park. This building was originally built as a masonry for Ster van het Oosten (East). This society is part of the international spiritual movement of Masoni (Freemasonry), which in Dutch is called vrijmetselaarij. Therefore, when the Dutch in Batavia at the time, the building was known as Vrijmetselaarsloge or the Freemasonry Hall. The original name of this building was Adhucstat Logegebouw.
Before 1967, Adhucstat building was once a place to prosecute leaders allegedly involved in the September 30 Movement Session of the Extraordinary Military Tribunal (Mahmillub) such as Nyono, Foreign Minister Subandrio, and Air Force Commander Admiral Omar Dhani.
Bappenas is a non-ministerial government of Indonesia that has a duty and performs the functions in the areas of national development planning. The Head of Bappenas is also the Minister for National Development Planning.

From Juanda / Gondangdia / Cikini go to platform 2 and take the Red Line or Blue Line heading to Bekasi/Depok/Bogor and stop at Manggarai and and go to platform 5 and take the Yellow Line heading to Angke/Jatinegara and stop at Sudirman, and take a 16-minute walk to the east.
From Tanah Abang go to platform 3 and take the Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor and stop at Sudirman, and take a 16-minute walk to the east.
