Museum Bank Mandiri: Don’t Forget to Explore the Underground Part


Museum Bank Mandiri or Mandiri Bank Museum is located at Jl. Lapangan Stasiun No. 1, Jakarta Barat / West Jakarta or just next to Bank of Indonesia Museum. Bank Mandiri Museum stands on an area of 10,039 m2 with overall building area 21.509m2. This building was originally a building Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij (NHM) or Factorji Batavia, a Dutch-owned trading company but later developed into a banking company. NHM has become one of the embryos ABN Amro Bank.

This building was designed by architects from the Netherlands, JJJ de Bruyn, A.P. Smits, and C. Van de Linde. NHM was nationalized in 1960 and changed its name to Farmers & Fishermen Cooperative Bank (BKTN) Export Import Affairs. Then turning to the Export Import Bank (Exim Bank) on December 31, 1968, and finally the Exim Bank, Bank Dagang Negara (BDN), Bank Bumi Daya (BBD) and the Development Bank of Indonesia (Bapindo) merged into Bank Mandiri in 1999.

To enter the Museum Bank Mandiri, you have to pay an entrance fee for Rp 2,000/adults while for children are free. If you are a customer of Bank Mandiri, do not forget to bring your Mandiri ATM card and get a free ticket for the cardholder. This Classic Art Deco Museum in Jakarta’s old town offers a journey through time to the old days banks. Upon entering the Museum Bank Mandiri, you’ll be greeted by two statues guard with Dutch colonial style uniforms old days. After that, visitors will see a display like the teller at the bank. From Juanda/Gondangdia /Cikini go to platform 1 and take the Red Line or Blue Line to Jakarta Kota. Go to the north exit and take a 3 minutes walk to the Northwest

From Tanah Abang go to platform 3 and take the Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor and stop at Manggarai go to platform 3/5 and take the Red Line or Blue Line to Jakarta Kota. Go to the north exit and take a 3 minutes walk to the Northwest

From Sudirman go to platform 2 and take the Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor and stop at Manggarai go to platform 3/5 and take the Red Line or Blue Line to Jakarta Kota. Go to the north exit and take a 3 minutes walk to the Northwest
