Wisma PGI Teuku Umar: A Convenient Place for Retreat


Wisma PGI Teuku Umar or PGI Guest House is located on Jl. Teuku Umar No. 17, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat/Central Jakarta. The guesthouse was built around 1918, as a residence and later used as office Nederlandsch Bijbel Genootschap (NBG) until 1950. The building is quite important for the history of the Communion of Churches in Indonesia or PGI (until 1984 called the Council of Churches in Indonesia or DGI). Since 1950, when used as the headquarters of DGI, the building has not changed. Authenticity marble floors and spatial patterns in an area of 2020 m2 is still well preserved and maintained. Changes made in the form of the addition of a window on the front porch, the dining room next to the main building, and expansion of the side porch. In 1960 the land and buildings by NBG granted to PGI. Furthermore, PGI office moved to Jl. Diponegoro and the building began to be used as a PGI Guest House

It is a convenient place for retreat, training, or seminar without traveling far away. It’s located in Menteng, Central Jakarta Which is a prestigious district and it’s easly accessable since it is near to the Gondangdia Station. The place will give you a feeling of peace and comfort that can be enjoyed with friends and family. Room Facility at this guest house is an air condition room with TV Cable and hot spot, also equipped with cool and hot water bathroom. PGI Guest House also have a restaurant that serve Indonesian and Western food fora’la carte menu

From Juanda go to platform 2 and take the Blue Line/Red Line heading to Bekasi/Depok/Bogor the stop at Gondangdia and take a 11 minutes walk to the South

From Cikini go to platform 1 and take the Blue Line/Red Line heading to Jakarta Kota then stop at Gondangdia and take a 11 minutes walk to the South

From Tanah Abang go to platform 3 and take Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor and stop at Manggarai and change to platform 3/5 and take the Blue Line/Red Line heading to Jakarta Kota then stop at Gondangdia and take a 11 minutes walk to the South

From Sudirman go to platform 2 and take the Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor and stop at Manggarai and change to platform 3/5 and take the Blue Line/Red Line heading to Jakarta Kota then stop at Gondangdia and take a 11 minutes walk to the South
