Menara Saidah or Saidah Tower located on Jl. MT Haryono, Jakarta Timur/East Jakarta. The building was established in 1998 under the name Grancindo Building. While still called Grancindo Building, the building has 15 floors. But when switching ownership to Saidah Abu Bakar, the owners did extensive renovations to 28 floors and renamed into the Menara Saidah. Since reopen in 2001, the Saidah Tower has a high appeal for the business community. It was proven at that time, since on each floor is always full of busy employees of the tenant companies, including the Ministry of Development of Eastern Indonesia Acceleration (on the 18th floor), PT. Merial Esa, PT. Merial Medika, and so on.
Even as the night the day, 28 level building was like a bunch of fireflies from a distance. It was Full of light shining on each side. However, the magnificence of the building owned by Saidah Abu Bakar was just a story. Since 2007, the Saidah Tower officially was closed to the public. Not many people know the reason for the abandonment of the Saidah Tower. Some say bad management run by the family of Saidah Abu Bakar made these tenants out one by one. However, there are some sources who confirmed that the structure of the Saidah Toweris increasingly skewed.
Currently Saidah Tower conditions are not maintained, quiet, and is not inhabited. The park before the Tower lobby area was not maintained, lots of foliage and dry trees, as well as quite a lot of broken glass on the floor above. Over time, there are many people who deplore ‘unemployed’ tallest tower in Jalan MT Haryono, Jakarta. Some are eager to buy the Saidah Tower. Noted, University Satyagama ever attempted to buy Saidah Tower at Rp 450 billion. Even Saidah Tower Saidah ever offered by Madurese business person at USD 16 billion. However, for some reason no body head the development of the proposal.
But one thing for sure, the Saidah Tower has always had its own charm and is still visible splendor. Menara Saidah is located in a very strategic location, just a short walk from the Cawang Station and if it is still functioning today, it would be more convenient because there Transjakarta stop near there.
