To improve travel frequency of the Jakarta Commuter Train and the safety of road users that crossing the railways, Jakarta government will build ten roads, seven of them are the underpasses road and three other are flyovers. Construction of flyovers and underpasses is to support the improvement of the Jakarta Commuter Train services and as well as to suppress congestion and also to support the TransJakarta operational services such as in Corridor VIII.
Kompas reported that the underpasses and flyovers development is also supported by Joko Widodo, the Governor of Jakarta. He stated that the construction of flyovers and underpasses are government measures to cover the shortfall street ratio in Jakarta
