President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Limited), Tri Sunoko, said the construction of the SHIA Train Staton will begin in June 2013. Tri Sunoko also explained that the development process will be completed in 2014 and commenced t operations in the first quarter of 2014. SHIA Train Station will be located between the airport terminal 1 and terminal 2 or could be an integrated building. Integrated building is a hub building between terminal 1 and terminal 2 with the concept of one-stop service. The building is not only a hub building, but also consists of several facilities, including the railway station, the station unmanned inter terminal transportation, bus terminals, shopping malls, hotels, and parking and will be equipped with high-tech facilities.
Deputy Minister of Transportation, Bambang Susantono, said the total budget for the airport train station and its all facilities the total budget will be up to Rp 5 trillion. The airport train railways is to be one of the government key concern because it can reduce congestion the public access to and from the SHIA.
The airport trains will be going through two routes and both are under construction. The first route is the Express Line which operates from Manggarai-Tanah Abang – Duri – Angke – Pluit to SHIA station. The route will parallel to the SHIA Toll Road. Then, the second route is a Commuter Line that operates from Manggarai – Tanah Abang – Duri – Grogol – Bojong Indah – Kalideres – Tanah Tinggi to SHIA station. Bambang stated that second line which will start operating in 2014
