Kineforum of the Jakarta Arts Council will hold an event that has aimed to appreciate the works of Indonesian films. The annual program, entitled History is Now 7 (National Film Month 2013) held at Taman Ismail Marzuki from 1 March to 31 March 2013.
Indonesian film history has been started since 1926 and the average number of film productions in Indonesia, the average is 102 movies / year. Therefore, as many as 38 old Indonesia films will be played back in the Kineforum Studio and Studio 21 Taman Ismail Marzuki. Alexander Matius, Director of the Program Kineforum said that the spirit of the program is to urge people to care about Indonesian films and invite young people to look back at films that have been produced in the past.
Not only the film, but the program also conducts a variety of topics for discussion such as this role Misbach Jusa Biran. In addition the program will also review the national film production that raised the issue of the nation’s history in 1965. Alex Sihar from Konfiden said that Kineforum set to play the quality films that have no place in the Commercial Cinema
