Ministry of Transportation sait the double track from Serpong to Maja could be completed by the end of this year. Construction of double track is expected to increase rail traffic capacity, from 101 trips to 128 trips per day. Double track with a length of 33 kilometers, need budget up to Rp1, 2 trillion, which began in 2008. By operating this double track, the government hopes to improve safety by reducing congestion between trains and speeding travel times.

In addition to building a double track along 33 kilometer, the Ministry is also build 84 unit bridges, signaling improvement in nine stations, and improved ‘park and ride’ facilities at each station. The Ministry stated that the completion of the work being done electrification, signaling, telecommunications and double track.
