Jakarta Festival Museum Day to be held on Fatahillah Park


Jakarta Culture and Tourism Office will be held Jakarta Festival Museum Day (JFMD). This event will be followed by 45 museums in Jakarta, and will be held in the Fatahillah Park. The JFMD 2013 is to commemorate International Museum Day 2013. The JFMD participant in 2013 is over 45 museums from 53 museums in Jakarta.

The 45 Museum which attending the JFMD this year include Textile Museum, Museum Onrust Archaeology Park, National Monument (Monas), Jakarta History Museum, Puppet Museum, Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics, Conservation Center, Old City Management Unit, Al Quran Museum PTIQ Lebak Bulus , Museum of Independence Proclamation Drafting, Museum of the May 12nd Tragedy of the University of Trisakti, and the Maritime Museum.

This year, JFMD will be held on May 18 in the old city starting from 8.00 to 17.00. This event aims to bring people, especially young people to get to know and love the museum. It is time for the museum become tourism destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.

In addition they also exhibit will feature several activities. The Old City will feature performances Weekend’s Old City. Then the Puppet Museum held a young puppeteer festival, exhibition puppet, and Banyumasan overnight the puppet show by featuring puppeteer Ki Anom.

Jakarta government targets a number of visitors who attended the JFMD 2013 reached 20 thousand people. Therefore Jakarta Government urged the visitors to use public transport such as TransJakarta bus or Commuter Train to get to the old city area.

From Tanah Abang go to platform 3/5 and take theYellow Line heading to Manggarai and from Manggarai go to platform 3 and take the Red Line or Blue Line to Jakarta Kota Station. From here go to the North Exit then take a 5 minute walk to the North

From Sudirman go to platform 2 and take theYellow Line heading to Manggarai and from Manggarai go to platform 3 and take the Red Line or Blue Line to Jakarta Kota Station. From here go to the North Exit then take a 5 minute walk to the North
