This fascinating building called Rumah Akar or House of Roots, it is located on Jl Kali Besar Timur in the area known now as Kota Tua or the Old City. If you like to take shoot some picture this Rumah Akar should be on your top list. It is and old building behind the Puppet Museum. I could not find the history of this Rumah Akar, but seems that the building has no roof for so long, so the trees and roots grow naturally and become the interior decoration.
The Rumah Akar is very awesome, cool, and, and full of imagination. You can have both sense of feeling at the same time, creepy and beautiful. No wonder if Rumah Akar use for photography purposes. Since I could not find the history of this magnificent house, I could not know who is actually own this Rumah Akar. But if you want to take shoot inside Rumah Akar, you will be charged at cost around Rp 100.000 – Rp 160.000/hour if you want to take photo inside.
