The central government has prepared a budget of Rp 700 billion to start elevated railways project in Jakarta which has been long overdue. These railways will be built elevated on existing railways and circling downtown Jakarta.

The project will begin at the east side of Jakarta in early 2014, because the location does not have a lot of development constraints, such as a toll road.

Construction of the east line elevated railways projects along along 11.2 Km passing Kampung Bandan – Rajawali – Kemayoran – Senen – Gang Sentiong – Kramat – Pondok Jati. As for the construction of 14.3 km on the west side will begin from Manggarai – Tanah Abang – Kampung Bandan. Elevated railways construction project is expected to be completed in 2018.

Elevated and Circular railway project construction in Jakarta certainly will not disrupt the traffic activities. Construction of the elevated railway will use advanced technology that is very efficient in such construction project.

The technology used will be the same as the technology development similar to the construction of Casablanca and Antasari flyover.
