Pasar Kembang Cikini: Oldest Flower Market in Jakarta


If you are a lover of flowers or maybe you want to give gifts to your loved ones, just visit the Flower Market Cikini, Central Jakarta. The oldest flower market which has existed since 1962 in Jakarta is not a big market; there are only approximately 28 stalls in area with U-shaped letter. It is located right in front of Cikini Station, Central Jakarta.

This traditional market has offered flower lovers the ultimate selection for many years. Despite competition and nearby architectural development cramping its style to some extent, the market continues to provide beautiful flower stems and arrangements.

In the market place we can see the busy flower sellers arranging flower or just taking care of their flowers. Here, you can see every stall filled with cut flowers, such as roses, lilies, dahlias, orchids, jasmine, carnations, gladiolas, and much more. Everything can be purchased in bars or per bundle. The price is quite cheap, only Rp 5 thousand for a stem rose and and priced at Rp30 thousand for a bundle of roses. For bouquets, priced starting price of Rp200 thousand to Rp750 thousand, depending on how big the bouquet you requested.

The flowers at the Flower Market Cikini brought in fresh condition from Bandung or Cipanas. There are also flowers imported from Bangkok, such as orchids at the price of Rp30 thousand per stem. The customers of Flower Market especially crowded when there are certain moments such as Valentine’s Day. However in a ordinary day, customers are relatively less. In addition to serving the needs flowers for special days related to happiness, Cikini flower market is also accepting reservations for wedding ceremony.

From Tanah Abang go to platform 3 and take the Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor and stop at Manggarai, go to platform 3/5 and take the Red Line or Blue Line heading to Jakarta Kota and stop at Cikini and take a 4 minutes walk to the Northeast

From Sudirman go to platform 2 and take the Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor and stop at Manggarai, go to platform 3/5 and take the Red Line or Blue Line heading to Jakarta Kota and stop at Cikini and take a 4 minutes walk to the Northeast
