Banten will start the construction of the monorail project from Serpong to Soekarno Hatta International Airport along 35 Km and targeted to be operational in 2016. The feasibility study and basic design of the monorail is expected to be completed in the next three months.

Saleh, MT, Director of Banten Global Development, said that the project is expected to spend about Rp 7 trillion budget for the physical development with the construction of the monorail tracks. PT Denicor, a Singapore company acting as the investor for the monorail project.  The operation of the monorail will be implemented through the PT Banten Excel Skytransport (BES), a subsidiary company of the PT Banten Global Development and PT INKA

The monorail will be built along 35 km with 16 stations and equipped with shopping centers ranging from Serpong, Alam Sutera, Tangerang to Soekarno Hatta International Airport. The monorail train set will have 3 cars and it will transport 600 passengers / trip.
