Arjuna Galau: Puppet show for Youth


“Arjuna Galau”, is the title of the puppet show that will be played by Wayang Orang Indonesia Pusaka (WOIP) led by Jaya Soeprana. This puppet show is supported by Djarum Cultural Appreciation and will play on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Grand Theatre at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta.

According to Jaya Soeprana, this romance based performances involves young people to attract an audience from younger generation to watch puppet art as one of the original Indonesian art performances.

The “Arjuna Galau” also involves the participation of many well known Indonesian celebrities and many well known figure including some of Indonesian minister such as Maudy Koesnaedi, Wulan Guritno, Amink, Tina Toon, Feni Rose, Yasmin Gita Wiryawan, Bai papulo, Ninok Leksono , KRMT. Roy Suryo, Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar and Mari Elka Pangestu.

Jaya Soeprana added, the word ‘Galau’ or ‘confusion’ in the title of the show was referring to the slang words. And he hopes this will be the chain for the younger generation to understand the art and culture of Indonesia. While Renitasari Adrian, Program Director of Djarum Bakti Budaya Foundation, said that the foundation will support any groups who raised the art and culture in contemporary packaging.

From Juanda: Go to Platform 2 and take the Red Line or Blue Line heading to Manggarai and stop at Cikini Station, and then walk for 13 minutes to the northwest.

From Gondangdia: Go to Platform 2 and take the Red Line or Blue Line heading to Manggarai and stop at Cikini Station, and then take a 13-minute walk to the northwest.
