Jl. Matraman is one of a fairly busy road in the East Jakarta.. But did you know that the name Matraman is taken from Mataraman? The area was once used as a military defense center by the Mataram Sultanate forces to attack Batavia. Since then, the name of the military defense of the Sultanate of Mataram is become the name of the place. However Betawi people call it a Matraman.
If you happened to be around in Matraman, try to stop at this modest restaurant, Soto Kudus Jatibening. Soto Kudus Jatibening is located at Jl. Matraman Raya Kav 41, next to the Tax Office of Matraman.
Soto Kudus is kind of soup that not using coconut milk with chicken base material comes with bean sprouts. The Soto is mix with some seasoning such as red onion, coriander, pepper, and turmeric. The Soto Kudus is served in a bowl mixed with rice. But you can order the rice separately or the rice is not blend with the Soto. You can add the quail eggs, liver gizzard, intestine, or fritters as an additional menu in the soup
Soto Kudus Jatibening is not only serves as the Soto as the favorite menu, but also Fried Duck and Fried Chicken. The restaurant is quite clean and can accommodate more than 30 people.
