Hundreds of colorful kites will take to the sky this weekend as the city celebrates its annual Jakarta International Kite Festival. The festival will be held on Saturday (30/11/2013) and Sunday (1/12/2013)
Jakarta administration in collaboration with Yayasan Masyarakat Layang – Layang and Legong Kite Society to host an international kite festival with the theme “New Jakarta, Our Jakarta ” . The festival will be held from 30 November 2013 – December 1, 2013
The festival will present 150 participants from 15 provinces in Indonesia and 18 countries including India , Australia , Singapore , Malaysia , Thailand , Germany , Japan , the Netherlands , France , Taiwan , UK , USA , New Zealand , Italy , Vietnam , South Africa , South Korea , and the Philippines
Various kites with various shapes , colors and sizes will be displayed in the festival would be very interesting to watch; such as a kite creations (form clowns , frogs , crabs , etc. ) , sport kites with two ropes control (stun kite ) and 4 rope control ( revolution ) that is very attractive to young kite athletes
In addition there will be a kite -making workshop from paper and plastic scrap, Indonesian traditional kite exhibitions, and bazaars selling various types of kites.
