Balaikota Bogor or Bogor City Hall is located on Jl. Juanda No 10, Bogor. Well, it is an office for Mayor of Bogor and functioned as City Government Office of Bogor. I believe that this building is part of the colonial heritage. But when I looking for any information related to this, all I found is a confusing history of this City Hall.
The first information that I found is in the Bogor website itself. It is said that the building is object of cultural heritage of Bogor. But, when I try to look deep, it is said
“It was built in 1950 under the name Societeit, the architecture of the Colonial Dutch. The Municipality Building has experienced renovation and consolidation of Sundanese and European style architecture. At present this building functioned as City Goverment Office of Bogor.”
But at the other part of the same page said
“This building was built in 1868 with rectangular shape. It is facing the street (at south), and have a large yard enough with two entrances-out gate. The building is given a white paint and on the face of the building has a slender pillars that looks beautiful and giving an impression as the magnificent building.”
Regardless of the confusing historical problems, if you ever visit Bogor, just try to stop for a minute to visit the Bogor City Hall
