The Indonesia Railways Corporation (PT KAI) and its subsidiary – PT KCJ, launched e-money electronic ticketing machines at three key Jakarta stations on Thursday; Sudirman, Bogor and Jakarta Kota. PT KCJ plans to install the machines at 66 stations, although it has not set a deadline for when all of them will be up and running.
Hasnul Suhaimi, Presiden Director of PT XL Axiata, said that the machine will make the transaction of the multi trip card is easier and will invite more people to use commuter lines as their main mode of transportation. PT KCJ as CommuterLine operator also has contracts with Indosat and Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) as providers for the vending machines.
To use the e-Money, cellular subscribers are required to activate the e-money or electronic money services by contacting each cellular provider. Once active, for Indosat subscriber can press the special code *789*2#, and for XL subscriber can press *123*120#. While Telkomsel subscriber should download the T Money application on Google Playstore or and follow the instructions.
After the completion of all stages of the customer asked to enter the 16 digit code of the multi trip card and have to visit the Vending Machine in the station for ticket purchasing confirmation. If within 24 hours the commuterline user has not confirm the ticket purchasing, the money will be refunded respectively.
