Ice Cream Tropik: Another Tasty Ice Cream from The Past

If you ever walk down to the alley of Passer Baroe, you should stop at Restaurant Tropik. Restaurant Tropik is located at Jl . Passer Baroe No. 28 – A, and it has been there since 1960. A family business that founded by Hartono is still selling the taste of homemade Ice Cream.

The name of this restaurant reflects the climate in Indonesia as it seen from the logo that displayed a tropical palm tree. As for the ice cream logo, it is indicating that the restaurant is famous for its ice cream since 1960.

The formula of the Tropic ice cream is not changed and the recipe is remaining the same from 1960. They use the natural basic ingredients and with no preservatives. The restaurant offers several variants of ice cream flavor such as chocolate, mocha, vanilla, milk, green tea, and strawberry. If you want to enjoy more variety of flavors in a dish then you can choose Tutty Frutty with beam shaped with chocolate, mocha and milk flavor or a combination of the three flavors that can be select by yourself.

I had stopped into this restaurant and try the ice cream called “Chocolate Room”. It feels good and feels soft when my ice cream touched my tongue. My ice cream is sprinkled with nuts.

This restaurant with capacity of 60 persons is not just to sell ice cream, but also serving Indonesian food and Chinese food. One of the mainstays of this restaurant is Lontong Cap Go Meh and Mie Ya Mien.
