PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) and the Ministry of Transportation already sign agreement to work together to build @CommuterLine railways to SHIA. The company will continue the development of railways infrastructure from Batu Ceper stations to SHIA along 13 kilometers.
Herman Dwiatmoko , Director General of Railways of MoT, targeting the construction of airport railways for @CommterLine to be completed in July 2015. PT KAI as the operator will operate up to 128 train trips and running for 20 hours daily. The airport @CommuterLine will pass through Manggarai – Sudirman – Tanah Abang – Duri – Grogol – Bojong Indah – Kalideres – Tanah Tinggi and ended at – Soekarno Hatta International Airport.
Ignasius Jonan, KAI’s President Director explained, the company will begin construction of @CommuterLine railways when the issue of land acquisition has been completed. Jonan mention there are two requirements needed to be completed for the SHIA railways can be implemented. The first requirement is to get the approval and commitment from the MoT. The second is a commitment to build train infrastructure in the airport. Construction of railway infrastructure at airports such as Automated People Mover System (APMS / monorail) to the airport station will be carried out by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) as the operator of the airport.
