The Ministry of Transportation will build two newly railway stations to support the operation of double-track double track from Manggarai to Cikarang. Both stations are in Bulak Kapal and Cibitung Bulak.
Teguh Boediono, Chief of Bekasi Station, said the existing stations in Bekasi such as Tambun Station and Cikarang Station will only be renovated. While for Bekasi Station, there will be major renovation and the station will have two levels just like Tanah Abang Station.
The construction of two new stations is to support the operation of double double track (DDT) which is planned to operate in 2019.The DDT will have separate lanes for @CommuterLine and Long Distance Train (KAJJ).
Based on the record, the average number of passengers per day in Bekasi Station is 28 thousand people. Notably, the rush hours for passengers are happened from 6:00 to 8:30 pm and 16:00 to 20:00.
