Central Government to hold The Grand Nusantara Art and Cultural Parade 2014


The Nusantara Art and Cultural Parade 2014 is a creative event to illustrate Indonesia’s cultural diversity involving all the provinces of the country. The Nusantara Art and Cultural Parade displays the rich diversity in  the arts and cultural performances and will be centered at the country’s national icon:  the National Monument.

This outstanding parade is organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in collaboration with the Jakarta Administration and will be shown this afternoon at 15.00 – 17.00. The parade will commence at the National Monument (Monas) before marching into Istana Merdeka. The parade will continue to the Sapta Pesona Building and the parade will pass Jakarta’s City Hall, to finally return to the Monas Square.

The event will involve 4000 artist as delegates from all 34 provinces of Indonesia and it will be highlighted by creatively designed traditional costumes, traditional art performances, a variety of traditional musical ensembles, and beautifully decorated floats.

Jakarta administration will also participate and perform two giant masks that will be carried by 100 dancers wearing masks. The masks correspond to the typical of capital city because they are the symbols of Betawi culture
