If you like to run, do not escape this important event – The Jakarta Marathon 2014. Following the last year success, The Jakarta Marathon, will happening again for thousands of runners on 26th October 2014.
The event is initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and organized by Inspiro in collaboration with Amaury Sports Organization (ASO). The Jakarta Marathon 2014 is targeted to have around 15,000 runners. The runners most definitely will be accompanied by their friends and relatives, and it is estimated that over 50 thousand people will gather in Jakarta during the Marathon.
The current Jakarta Marathon starting point and finish line is similar to last year’s Jakarta Marathon. The starting point and finish line will take place at the Southwest gate of the National Monument (Monas). The Marathon route will take competing athletes and participants pass some of Jakarta’s most well known landmarks that include the Istiqlal Mosque and the Cathedral, the Old Batavia, the Fatahillah Square, and the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout.
This year, there will be four categories, namely: the marathon 42,195 km, half marathon 21 km, 10 km and a special “marathoonz” category (a 1.3 km marathon for kiddos).
