If you are at Tanjung Barat area, try to stop at this restaurant that offers a special culinary menu from Magelang; The Kupat Tahu Magelang AA (or KTM AA). This small restaurant actually has many branch, and one of the branch is located in Jl. TB. Simatupang in South Jakarta.
Well, unlike the restaurant that located in very busy road, Magelang is just a small city in Central Java but they have this special food “Kupat Tahu Magelang”. Kupat or Ketupat is a type of dumpling made from rice packed inside woven palm leaf pouch. So Kupat Tahu is basically Ketupat with slice of Fried Tofu.
Well, there is another Kupat Tahu, namely Kupat Tahu Bandung. While Kupat Tahu Bandung is more like Ketoprak in Jakarta, the Kupat Tahu Magelang is completely offers different taste.
Kupat Tahu Magelang or well known as KTM is a food consists of pieces of Kupat with slices offriedtofu. The topping are bean sprouts and slicesof cucumber. KTM is watered by peanut saucewith garlic and fresh chili as seasoning. As complementary, you can add fried shallots, slicedcelery, and crackers
