Old City is so one of the famous destinations in Jakarta, but it has not been treated well. But now, this area has been designated as a national tourist attraction through the Decree of the Minister of Tourism. This declaration according to Arief Yahya, Minister of Tourism, as a step for the Old City to gain recognition as a World Heritage Site from UNESCO.

Currently, the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Jakarta Administration and the Old City Consortium, the Old City is being formed to be a center of arts and creative industries. In addition, the Minister of Tourism is also hoped that in the next year many yachts can be docked in the port of Sunda Kelapa.
