Located in the one of the busy part of Jakarta, the Medan Baru Restaurant is one of a “must try” restaurant. Popular among the local for the so called “ganja” sauced, this restaurant is historically well known for its Fish Head Curry (gulai kepala kakap). The fish head curry is so tender and the curry tastes perfect, not too spicy, but well just tasty to the max

 You can eat the fish head curry combined with sauteed papaya leaves – the yellow savory fish curry will be “neutralized” by the light bitterness of the papaya leaves. The fish head comes in different size. Another best menu of the restaurant is the legendary fried pigeon (burung dara goreng) which is truly tender. You can not make any comparison for their fried pigeon elsewhere.

Like any other Padang Cuisine restaurant, they served other menu as the usual Padang restaurant. You can see all the food prepared to be served. The waiters will serve all the menu on the table. If you want to have the flag ship menu, you should order it to the waiters

 The restaurant is quite comfortable and equipped with the air conditioned.
