Monumen Patung Dirgantara: Known as Patung Pancoran


President Sukarno was the person behind the idea to create a statue of the Indonesia aviation. He requested that the statue featuring the power of Indonesia in the aerospace industry by relying on the nature of honest, brave, and passionate of Indonesian nation.

This statue depicts a human space, which means that illustrates the spirit of the Indonesian people to conquer the skies. Therefore, no wonder if the statue was placed in the Pancoran, South Jakarta which is not far from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport and the former headquarters of the Indonesian Air Force.

To realize his dream, the President itself even demonstrates how to shape his image of the statue. He also donates from his own by selling his personal car for IDR 1 million at the time. The total cost of making Dirgantara statue reached IDR 12 million.

Fingertips of Dirgantara statue can’t be separated from the myth. But the Edhi Sunarso say it is an idea to lead Indonesia aerospace to be more advanced since the Dirgantara statue is behind the Indonesia Air Force Headquarters

From Juanda / Gondangdia / Cikini go to platform 2 and take the Red Line heading to Depok/Bogor then stop at Cawang and take a 21 minutes walk to the West

From Tanah Abang go to platform 3 and take Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor then stop at Cawang and take a 21 minutes walk to the West

From Sudirman go to platform 2 and take Yellow Line heading to Depok/Nambo/Bogor then stop at Cawang and take a 21 minutes walk to the West
