At the old days, the commuters at Jakarta and its surrounding cities were used to ride the KRL Ekonomi. The fare is very cheap although there was no guarantee on its comforts. There are a lot of stories and memories to those who had ride the service of KRL Ekonomi.
The KRL Ekonomi was no longer used after the announcement to improve the commuter train services in Greater Jakarta. You can still see the famous KRL Ekonomi at Purwakarta station.
