PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is planning to develop Kampung Bandan Station in in pademangan North Jakarta to be the biggest train control center in Greater Jakarta. Edi Sukmoro, President Director of PT KAI on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 said that the region could become a center of the largest train workshop in Greater Jakarta. It It could even break up the density that frequently occurs in Manggarai Station.

Accorting to the plan, Kampung Bandan Station will become the center for the freight train because it is situated close to the Port of Tanjung Priok. The company is also planning to make Kampung Bandan Station as transit station with a seven-story building. He hopes that this project will be pilot project of station development in Indonesia.

Budi Noviantoro, Director of Logistics and Development of PT KAI added, the company has been prepared the development of Kampung Bandan station. The Grand design of the development has been built, including building track for airport express train, from Jakarta Kota, Kampung Bandan, Pluit to Soekarno Hatta International Airport
